The RE 100 Temperature Fail Safe Protection System is available for both single and three phase installations. The system comprises a mains contactor to which the test machine, but not its computer controller, is wired. An over temperature trip value is set manually and is activated by any over temperature event detected by a free-standing temperature sensor. The temperature sensor is on a flying lead and may be attached to the test machine by means of a screw clamp. The over temperature trip automatically disables the mains supply at the contactor.
In the event of an over temperature event, for whatever reason, power to the machine is simply switched off rendering the heating system inoperative. Because the machine computer remains on, control programs running under Windows may be terminated correctly and the computer shut down in an orderly fashion.
